External services
The default text to speech uses the speech synthesis of the browser of the visitor, no data is sent to any server by this plugin.
The optional audio engines of the services (Audio tab of the settings) read the text through the service that you select. When one of them is selected, the text that is read aloud is sent to that service: Responsive Voice (responsivevoice.org, terms: https://responsivevoice.org/terms/ and privacy policy: https://responsivevoice.org/privacy-policy/), Google Translate, iSpeech, Inforobo, TTSMP3 and TextToMP3, through a proxy of this plugin on your own site. The script of Responsive Voice is loaded from the plugin folder or from code.responsivevoice.org (setting “Responsive Voice script loading”).
PRO version only: when the generation of the missing alt text of the images is enabled, the image is sent to the AI provider that you select, OpenAI (openai.com, terms: https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use and privacy policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) or Google Gemini (ai.google.dev, terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms), using your own API key, which is stored in your database and is never sent to the browser.
The plugin shows links to the website of its author, storejextensions.org, in the settings page and in this description. No data is sent by those links until you click them.
