Absolutely brilliant!

Switched from Joomla to WordPress and installed Geodirectory V2 to create a multi location directory and events site. Support has been absolutely brilliant with very quick response times, solving almost every issue I ran into (most of the time just me getting used to the new environment) in a matter of minutes but also a few other, more serious issues, in less than a day. I would definitely recommend Geodirectory to anyone who plans on creating a directory. It's easy to use as it uses the new Gutenberg blocks and custom fields to create and layout your pages and comes with lots of great add-ons for a very reasonable price. Keep up the good work! I'm hooked on WordPress and Geodirectory V2. That's a fact.

Best Directory Platform and Support

As the creator of, I wanted to develop a comprehensive, industry-wide directory. GeoDirectory enabled me to do this and the support is the best part. Whenever you get stuck on something, which happens to all of us, they are right there to deliver the solution and/or troubleshoot it down to the source. Every response has been under 24 hours and actually under 6 hours and we are in two separate continents. Hands down the best and looking forward to future developments and releases.

Awesome directory plugin

I'm a total newbie to wordpress so getting even the basic website started up was tough for me( not because of the plugin but because of my very basic knowledge of wordpress). Many times I wanted to just use the all-in-one directory themes instead because it seemed like a all-in-one solution. However, I read the blog comparing directory themes to the Geodirectory plugin and I knew if I didn't want to run into problems in the long run, GD is the way to go. It took me quite a while to learn how to use GD but the more I learned it, the more impressed I got with the plugin. It has the flexibility that we need and the capacity to expand without crippling the website with overloads. I love that the team is constantly working on the plugin to make it better. Support has been great for the past 7 months too. I highly recommend this plugin and encourage those who use this plugin to stay on when the going gets tough. These guys are really responsible people and do a great job!

Too many bugs and bad state of mind

Here is my user feedback from GeoDirectory for several years to today with the GeoDirectory V2 version. GeoDirectory is a tool with a dynamic and responsive development team. Unfortunately in support when you have a problem, they offer CSS fix 80% of the time (display: none, etc.). But the biggest problem is the general state of mind. It's the opposite of the basic state of mind of WordPress ... WARNING: Indeed, the biggest problem of the GD team is that if you start working with GeoDirectory v2, that you invest your time and money in it, you will be faced with problems, and if you are not developer, you will not be able to leave because you will have no other choice than to use what the team offers you internally. We are far from the concept of WordPress, which is to allow the user the freedom to use POWERFUL and SPECIFIC third party plugins! Indeed, they encourage you to buy GeoDirectory v2 add-ons! This is the rule of the game for this type of economic strategy and I understand it. But the problem is that the add-ons are all very "simplistic" and we are much to be beta tester without our knowledge, because we report bugs every day, and it is impossible to advance on a serious personal project...! The problem of GeoDirectory? They want to do everything and lock us in. Moreover, the directory still has a lot of progress to make, and despite this, the development team thinks too much "money", and therefore develops FULL of unnecessary add-ons, because similar external plugins are already doing well. job! But GeoDirectory v1 and even the most recent v2, are studied and developed to be "closed". Example # 1, FIRST MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTIONALITY FOR A DIRECTORY: SEARCH for listings and its elements. If you purchase the add-on "GD Advanced Search v2" to extend the search functionality of GeoDirectory v2, you will need to do individual CPT searches by CPT. Can not do a global search ... (ironic for a powerful directory). So I want to use a dedicated search plugin that does a good job such as "FacetWP", "SearchWP", "AJAX Search Pro" or "Relevanssi", but still the same ... they are all 100% incompatible. Example # 2, SECOND MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTIONALITY FOR A DIRECTORY: THE IMPORT OF listings and its elements. The team imposes to use the internal CSV import system. Very simplistic, a button to import a .CSV file and some possible exports. That's all ! (ironic for a powerful directory). So I want to use "WP All Import", the world's best plugin import CSV and XML, but it is 100% incompatible. The developer of WP All Import has agreed to make an add-on to be compatible with GeoDirectory v2, but the GeoDirectorey team has refused, and has been saying for years that we MUST use GD's simplistic internal CSV import system. Even though on the support forum there are dozens of applications to use WP All Import ... Even worse, a GD user has developed a homemade add-on for Wp All Import and GeoDirectory V2, code gracefully given to the GD team, and for several weeks more news. Once again no choice, the team asks me to use the GeoDirectory CSV import or not to import CSV ... Great! Example # 3: to optimize the directory, no alternative choice possible, buy the plugin "GD Booster" or nothing. Indeed GeoDirectory v2 is incompatible with the best third party cache plugins. Example # 4: to exploit the CPT, no alternative choice possible, buy the "GD Custom Post Types v2" add-on, and to notice that in fact ... no ... one is still and always limited: only the CPT internal GeoDirectory v2 are managed, no other ... lol Example # 5: If you buy the "Social Import" add-on to import events from Facebook, you will only be able to import ONE event at a time ... (ironic for a powerful directory). Example # 6: If you buy the add-on "GeoMarketplace" (third party plugin) that the GeoDirectory team encourages you to buy, which makes GeoDirectory + WooCommerce + WC Marketplace compatible. And the CPT "product" of WooCommerce will remain 100% incompatible with GeoDirectory, because it is not a CPT created with GeoDirectory v2. I could go on with other examples, but for years, GeoDirectory has made the wrong choice to remain a closed directory and whose possibilities are limited because there is no WordPress spirit. It's not too late friends! You released a few weeks ago version 2 of GeoDirectory. Hey GD team! I propose to you to change strategy, and thus to make twice twice more popular your dear GeoDirectory plugin, by proposing a freedom of choice in the functionalities of GDv2. After that I would change the note. I am disappointed because I am poor, and I have already spent $600 of annual support + add-ons, and today my site is still not launched, because EVERY DAY I have a new bug or problem at solve, even if I work correctly with GeoDirectory v2...

Absolutely crap plugin

If you are looking for a straight-forward, intuitive and easy to work with plugin this is NOT IT! From beginning to end this plugin is hard to figure out, and I'm not a newbie to WordPress. The documentation is poorly laid out in no particular order. The plugin is also misleading. You have to download other plugins they sell to really make it work, and they mislead you on their website to make you think it works out of the box with page builders, which is not the case. If you want it to work with page builders you have to use a theme builder which most people don't know how to do. After an entire month of struggling with this plugin, I finally gave up on it as the new version is just to hard to work with. They did not honor the money back guarantee as I 3 days past the 30-day guarantee. Don't get me wrong they have that right to refuse, I accept those terms when I bought, but 3 days? No good will here at all? Most of the good reviews for this plugin are for version one, not this version two garbage. It is what it is, they got my money on a 3-day technicality and don't give a darn about good will.
